about

Introducing the long-awaited sequel to the renowned compilation series by Abortive Gasp, comes "Counter-Antinatalism II: Goth Resurgence." As the world emerges from the grip of the COVID-19 pandemic, a new threat looms on the horizon - UFO sightings sparking mistrust and apprehension.

This compilation, aptly titled to reflect the current climate, offers a sonic journey that defies both the Church of Fear and the Church of Euthanasia. It boldly asserts that Goths and life can indeed coexist, even amidst uncertainty and fear.

Drawing inspiration from their roots in Hamburg's underground electro-industrial scene, Abortive Gasp delivers a collection of tracks that capture the essence of rebellion and improvisation. With echoes of their early dub influences, the album invites listeners to embrace the chaos while awaiting the impending "Bunker Busters" - a metaphor for the violent impacts that await, shattering the protective walls against new threats, such as the looming UFO phenomenon.

Founded by singer Tim Paal and composer Harry Luehr in the late eighties, Abortive Gasp emerged alongside other iconic "Hamburg Bunker Bands" like 'Girls under Glass' and 'Cancer Barrack.' Despite their militaristic moniker, the scene they inhabited was far from it, instead thriving within the post-punk underground of the St. Pauli Flakbunker.

So, dive into "Counter-Antinatalism II: Goth Resurgence" and embrace the sound of defiance in the face of uncertainty, as Abortive Gasp once again proves that music is a powerful force in navigating the complexities of our world.
